2024 Beauty Insights- 6th Edition

L’Oréal Groupe has secured its place on the A List of the global environmental non-profit CDP for the eighth consecutive year. This prestigious recognition highlights L’Oréal’s leadership in environmental transparency and its exceptional performance in tackling climate change, protecting forests, and ensuring water security.

The 2024 Naturally Good Awards have opened for entries, inviting brands that champion natural, sustainable beauty practices to participate. The deadline is February 29, 2024, with a late entry option until March 8, 2024. These awards shine a spotlight on innovative, quality-focused brands in the natural health and beauty industry.

Intu Wellness, co-founded by Anna Robards and Christie Whitehill, has secured an impressive partnership with Mecca, one of the most coveted collaborations for emerging Australian brands. This partnership marks a significant milestone as Intu Wellness becomes the first Australian ingestible beauty brand to be featured in Mecca stores across Australia and New Zealand.

From March 21 to 24, 2024, Beautycare Brazil (Internationalization Project of the Brazilian Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrances Industry), created by ABIHPEC (Brazilian Association of the Toiletries, Perfumery and Cosmetics Industry) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Agency Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Association), will promote the participation of 44 companies in Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2024, one of the largest meetings in the sector in Europe.

YSL Beauty names Dua Lipa as global makeup ambassador. The French luxury label has enlisted British pop singer Dua Lipa to embody their makeup collections. The Grammy Award-winning singer previously served as the face of Yves Saint Laurent Beauty’s Libre fragrance since 2019.

The Omani luxury perfume brand- Amouage announces annual growth of +24% in 2023. Retail sales in European markets increased by over 39%, boosted by strong performance at flagship department stores. In the Asia-Pacific region, Amouage announces a 28% growth, while Americas marked a growth of over 21%. In the GCC region, standout countries were Oman, where sales grew by 33% like-for-like, and the United Arab Emirates, where sales increased over 30%. Also, amouage.com sales grew by over 31%.

As the United Kingdom is heading towards a General Election this year, the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA) — the UK trade association representing companies involved in making, supplying and selling cosmetics and personal care products – is calling for the next Government to develop a strategy for the cosmetics and personal care industry to secure the continued sustainable growth of the sector.

L’Oréal USA just launched a new edition of its Inclusive Beauty Fund, which provides financial support and resources to small businesses and entrepreneurs across the beauty industry. Administered in collaboration with the NAACP’s Economic Empowerment Fund and Hispanic Federation, respectively, L’Oréal has partnered with GlobalGiving to provide 40 one-time grants to small businesses and entrepreneurs in the beauty industry across the United States.

Curèl, a Japanese line of facial moisturizers and cleansers designed specifically for dry and sensitive skin, is launching a pair of products that work in tandem to combat severe skin dryness. Comprising a lotion that diffuses onto the skin as an ultra-thin veil and a diffuser used to apply the veil, the set will make debuts in Japan on April 4, 2024. As the veil wraps the skin, it releases moisturizing ingredients that seep deep into the stratum corneum to keep the skin hydrated and relieve concerns about severe skin dryness.
